Welcome to Double D Ranch Located in Sunny Central Florida. We are the proud family of six of North America’s Berger Picards: Valmy de la Valle du Mouton, Victor of Silver Glen, Ardosie Du Manior De Bertinghen, Brogan of Double D Ranch, Champion Alpaha Natura Bacchus and Erkahn De L’Escale des Migrateurs. Better know to us as Valle, Vic, DC, Bro, Bac  and Little Man.

 

My love for Picards began in the summer of 2000. While in London on work, I had a chance encounter with Busch, a very large beautiful fawn Berger Picard. When I returned to the States I began my search.

 

After reading everything I could on the Picards I decided that this was the dog for me. While researching the breed I found I would have to travel to Europe for my puppy because at that time there were no breeders in the US and only 11 Picards in North America. In February of 2001 I would travel to Austria to pick up my first Picard, Valle, a fawn female from Christian and Monica Janes. She would become the 12th Picard in North America.

 

As my love for the breed grew so did my want to share them with the rest of North America. So my hunt for a male was on. In December 2003 the first litter was born to Silver Glen Ranch. Finally, in February of 2004, a fawn male, Vic, would become part of our family. He eventually would go on to be the father of our first two litters of puppies with Valle. They would also produce the first American born Grand Champion, Boomer of Double D Ranch.

 

However I still longed for a brindle Picard.  So, in August of 2005 we returned to Austria and The Janes, who had just returned from France. They introduced us to DC, a dark brindle female, who would become the third member of our Picard family.

 

The fourth member of our family, Brogan Lynn is the product of Valle and Victor. She carries on the wonderful lines of her mother Valle, and with them our foundation has been set. The final two members of our family are Bac and Little Man. The future of our Ranch will be carried on with them.

 

Although this is a truly fabulous breed of dog, it is not the right breed for everyone. We hope that the information contained in this website and the links to other sites contained herein will provide you with the information you need to determine if this is the right breed of dog for you family.
