Custom Whelping

We have been breeding and training dogs for over 20 years. Specializing in Sporting and herding dogs. All dogs are cared for in house. Custom plans range from whelping to rearing pups for 8 weeks. Contact us for price list.
Custom Whelping includes:
- Care of your pregnant bitch for at least 1 week prior to scheduled whelp date of the puppies.
- Administration of any drugs or supplements during the bitch’s stay, which is to be provided by the owner/owner’s veterinarian. Owner will have credit card on file at Lake Alfred Animal Hospital and a letter on file stating the Deanna Donohue has the right to act on behalf of owner for medical needs of the bitch.
- Whelping the pups. If complications arise and trips to the vet are necessary, the bitch’s owner pays for the vet services. Any drugs used in the whelping process are to be provided by or paid for by the owner. This includes but are not limited to emergency C-sections.
- Trip to the vet for tail docking, dew claw removal, initial puppy checkup, and post whelp checkup of bitch, normally 1-3 days post whelp. These vet costs are the responsibility of the owner.
- Trip to vet for 1st round of puppy shots. These vet costs are the responsibility of the owner.
- Administration of Panacure and Storngid medicines began at two weeks. Will be given at 2,4,6,8 weeks. Medicine is paid for by the bitch’s owner.
- Weaning of puppies around 3 weeks of age. The cost of the puppy food is to be paid for by the bitch’s owner. Puppies are fed Purina ProPlan30/20 unless other food is requested by the bitch’s owner. The bitch will be fed the same food during her stay.
- Staying at Double D Kennels, pups are well socialized and are started on crate training.
- Early Neurological Stimulation from day one. Weights and puppy records kept.
What to bring with you when dropping your Bitch off:
Proof of current vaccinations
Conformation x-ray with puppy count
Food the that she is currently eating( If not Purina Pro Plan 20/30)
Calcium Citrate 1000 mg ( if not brought with you will be billed)
Bedding or other items that belong to the Bitch
Deposit
